Yesterday, I was having lunch with Clayton and baby girl smacked my stomach. I have definitely never experienced that type of sensation before so I can only assume it was her. It seriously felt like a whole cheese burger just went 'plop' into my stomach. Since I know it's not possible for a sandwich to land whole in my stomach (considering that wasn't even what I was eating), I determined it must have been her!
I believe she was mad at me for moving her around all day yesterday. However, she was sitting in a weird position and made me super uncomfortable. So I would gently push on my stomach to try and give her the hint hint wink wink NUDGE NUDGE (lol) to move her butt somewhere else!
Unfortunately, because I have a front located placenta (there's a fancier term for it but that's what I choose to call it), I can't feel her very often. Sometimes I get butterfly type feelings and that's when I know it's her. However, at this point, I should be distinctly feeling her hands and feet. Beggars can't be choosers I guess.
"What To Expect When Expecting" says that because of where my placenta is, it'll make it hard to track the baby's comfort level and movements in the third trimester if it decides it doesn't want to change locales. It suggests that all mom keep track of movements throughout the day, but how can I do that when some meat steak protein bag is cushioning all the blows?
I'm a month or so away from my third trimester, I guess I shouldn't be worrying about it too much just yet. Can't help but have that mother envy though, when other mom's are feeling their babies' kicks over and over all day.
Sigh! Come on little girl, kick that thing out of your way :)
